++transitions++

In high school I went through this extemely emo phase listening to alternative bands such as mae, dashboard confessionals, the used, the format, the get up kids and the list goes on and on. As we grow our taste may change but the foundation is still there. Sufjan Stevens in my opinion is a great transition from my then to now.

+++Sufjan Stevens- Detroit, Michigan singer/songwritter+++

Sufjan grew up in Detroit Michigan. Probably one of the other best things that came out from the state besides the Celtics. I am sure you have all heard his music before. A lot of his tracks were on "The Little Miss Sunshine" soundtrack.

Props to this artist for writing all of his own materials and performing all of his music live. He get the authentic kt artist stamp of approval. Lets face it artist these day should be ashamed for calling themselves artists because really hardly any of them create anything.

Ironically, the song I choose for Sufjan that I wanted to share is a cover. It was originally recorded by "Innocence Mission" Both versions are excellent. I would recommend you get both. Personally for me I feel like this song captures those moments in your life when your ready for something better and new. In his moment of flux it sounds like he's ready for strength in the new spring. enjoy.

+++welcome+++

Due to a good friend of mine, I am beginning a music blog.

I am neither a writer nor a music professional.
This is just a blog of my miscellaneous beats of an ongoing music seeker. Because, to me if there is anything that has ever a constant in my life... it's music. If there is anything in life that I truly feel firm about, it is my addiction to the power of music.

Music to me is not just another jam. It's my everything. The air I breath, the water I drink it's my life. To me I want to share my on going biography through music.

I stumbled upon this artist looking for something soulful and sexy. Personally, the more acoustic instruments the better. Maybe it's my background being apart of "dorkestra" from middle to high school. But I appreciate this song because it's just another well done jazz beat to add to your repertoire. You have your funky bass, your jazz flute solo and lets admit it your main singer is not saying much. The layering of sounds flow so well together. (If a singer can sing an entire song pretty much saying one or two words for the entire song and it sounds right like Rilo Kiley's-i never "I never" or maybe this is pushing it but Karen O's-maps "wait they won't love you like I love you maaaaaaaps" etc) I'm looking forward to listening to more of his music. enjoy.
